A very clever piece of kit from Germany, this preamp/fx ‘listens’ to and mimics amps and fx.
It’s a fearsomely complicated thing, but powerful too. As usual. some of the pre-loaded sounds are too fizzy and the global command for turning the cab sims off takes a bit of finding.
In fact the whole instruction manual a bit of a puzzle and organising sounds is beyond me, but some of the profiles I’ve taken of my real amps are quite good.
There’s a whole world of professionally-recorded profiles out there to buy, but I’ve found most are way too fizzy. I can see why metal players like these things but blues players don’t. I’d still rather play a real tube amp every time…
